Concrete Technology & Construction Stage 1: Concrete Practice

The course Concrete Technology & Construction Stage 1: Concrete Practice is the entry level training scheme intended for those starting in the construction industry or for personnel already involved in production, use or quality control activities associated with concrete.

As well as providing essential and up to date information for operatives engaged in concrete production or site activities, the course is also suitable for those new to the industry in a supervisory role.

The course can prepare candidates, if they wish, for an examination leading to the recognized qualification Concrete Technology & Construction – Concrete Practice awarded by the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT).

Successful candidates are eligible for membership of the ICT at Technician Member grade with the entitlement to use the designatory letters TechICT.

No prior experience is required and the modular approach is designed to enable those candidates intending to become qualified to commence the course in September and complete it in time for revision before the examination that is traditionally held in mid-June the following year.

Candidates are free, however to proceed at their own pace.

Concrete Technology & Construction Stage 2: General Principles

The course Concrete Technology and Construction Stage 2: General Principles represents the second step of the industry-endorsed four stage qualification framework which is directly linked to the professional grades of membership of the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT). It is intended for all personnel involved in the production, use or quality control of concrete.

As well as providing essential and up-to-date information for specifiers, producers and contractors, the course prepares candidates, if they wish, for the examination Concrete Technology & Construction Stage 2: General Principles that leads to a qualification awarded by the ICT.

Successful candidates are eligible for membership of the ICT at Affiliate Member grade with the entitlement to use the designatory letters AffICT.

It is expected that candidates will have some prior knowledge and/or possess the Stage 1 entry level qualification Concrete Practice.

A unitized and modular approach is designed to enable candidates to become qualified to commence at any time, progress at their own pace and complete the course in time for revision before the ICT examination that is traditionally held in May every year.

The course Concrete Technology and Construction Stage 3: Practical Applications represents the third step in the industry-endorsed four stage qualification which is directly linked to the professional grades of membership of The Institute of Technology (ICT). It is intended for all personnel involved in production, use or quality control activities associated with concrete.

As well as providing essential and up to date information for specifiers, producers and contractors, the course prepares candidates for the examinations leading to the recognised qualification Concrete Technology and Construction Stage 3: Practical Applications awarded by the ICT.

Successful candidates are eligible for membership of the ICT at Associate Member grade with the entitlement to use the designatory letters AMICT.

It is generally expected that candidates will have successfully completed the Stage 2: General Principles course or possess equivalent experience.

The unitized and modular approach is designed to enable candidates to progress at their own pace and complete the course in time for revision before the ICT examination that is traditionally held in mid-May every year.
